Communications Commission: 1,280 Terabytes of Data Consumption on the Ninth Day of Dhu al-Hijjah in Makkah

The Communications and Information Technology Commission issued today the statistics on the performance of communications networks in Makkah for the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1439H. In detail, the report showed that the number of successful local and international calls reached about (23) million, indicating that the call success rate index exceeded 99%.

The Commission indicated that the volume of data consumption reached (1,280) terabytes, in addition to the internet download speed reaching (26 Mbps), an improvement of (83%) compared to last year, while the upload speed reached about (10 Mbps), an improvement of (49%) compared to last year.

The Commission added that the average individual's daily data consumption rate in Makkah during the eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1439H reached (299 megabytes), exceeding twice the global average individual daily data consumption rate of (150 megabytes), noting that the most data-consuming applications were (YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp).
