Announcement Regarding the Release of a Public Consultation Document on Updating Interconnection Guidelines and Physical Facilities Access Guidelines

Out of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's keenness to enhance competition, protect the interests of users, encourage the provision of communications and information technology services, and deal with modern networks based on the internet protocol and fiber optics, and to encourage the increased spread of high-speed broadband services, and as a result of the developments that have occurred in communications and information technologies and their markets since the current interconnection guidelines were issued in 2003, the Commission has updated those guidelines and prepared a draft of new guidelines addressing the regulation of access to the physical facilities of communications networks, to obtain public consultation on them.

To organize the consultation request process, the Commission welcomes all comments and observations submitted, and invites concerned parties to submit their views and answers to the numbered and specific questions in the attached document. The Commission also invites participants to submit their views in as much detail as possible, and to provide relevant data, analyses, and comparative studies that support their views, noting that the views submitted are not binding on the Commission.

All submissions/comments should be sent to the Commission no later than 3:00 pm on Monday 13/4/1436H, corresponding to 2/2/2015, to one of the following addresses:
