After participants contributed more than 40,000 devices, the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission renews its invitation to the public to participate in the "Donate Your Device" initiative.

The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission renewed its invitation to the public to participate in the #Donate_Your_Device initiative, as the number of electronic devices contributed by participants has now exceeded 40,000 devices. The Commission aims, through this initiative, to achieve environmental sustainability, reduce emissions and electronic waste, and minimize financial waste through the recycling of devices. Additionally, it seeks to enhance social responsibility and the principles of solidarity to enable needy families to obtain devices.

The Commission pointed out that the public's interaction with this initiative reveals the level of awareness of environmental sustainability within the community and the responsibility individuals have toward each other. The value of the devices contributed by participants has exceeded one million Saudi Riyals. The initiative has seen engagement from many entities in the business sector, as well as numerous individuals who were keen to participate through the available channels.

It is worth noting that the Commission launched the initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the National Waste Management Center "Mwan," and the private sector, in a step to reduce electronic waste, contribute to lowering future raw material costs, preserve the Kingdom's natural resources, and achieve sustainability in line with the circular economy principle.

The Commission also reiterated its invitation to donate unused electronic devices before the initiative ends on January 31, 2023. The devices covered by the initiative include mobile phones, tablets, landline phones, modems, desktop and laptop computers, and printers, which can be donated through the dedicated website for the initiative:
