Acting Governor of the Communications Commission Opens the Internet Society (ISOC) Workshops

His Excellency the Acting Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Eng. Majid bin Mohammed Al-Mazyad, opened today the Internet Society (ISOC) workshops, with a welcoming speech in which he affirmed the Kingdom's pride in hosting such enriching meetings. For her part, Ms. Sally Wentworth, Vice President of the Internet Society, expressed her thanks to the Kingdom and the Commission for this hosting, noting the effective role the Society seeks to play in connecting the world and shaping its digital future.

The workshops held by the Internet Society (ISOC) aim to discuss ways of building unified Arab policies for adopting modern technologies in the world of information technology, and supporting digital transformation. They also discuss a number of pivotal topics and issues in building digital communities in the Arab world, including the adoption of global and regional strategies and policies, and reviewing the experiences of a number of Arab countries, including the Kingdom, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to regulatory and security challenges, and development opportunities in government services and e-commerce.
