"The Communications Commission" Obtains Level 4 Excellence Certification in the Global P3M3 Project Management Maturity Index
The Communications and Information Technology Commission has obtained the Level 4 excellence certification, out of five levels, in the global P3M3 project management maturity index, becoming one of 36 government entities from various countries around the world, and one of 16 global entities in the communications and information technology sector, to obtain the certification at this level.
This certification, issued by the British organization Axelos, which specializes in project management, is granted to distinguished entities committed to following global best practices in project management, by measuring their level of maturity in this field. The organization has designated Level 4 for entities that have specific and sustainable metrics and institutional business models for measuring project management performance, enabling them to study the current situation and anticipate future performance.
The "Communications Commission" explained that it obtained this certification after going through systematic steps related to evaluating project management performance, including familiarization with the Commission's work methodology, conducting analytical studies of all electronic systems, policies, regulations, procedures, and other governance documents, and holding interviews and discussions, culminating in the final evaluation stage.
Data issued by Axelos indicates that the Commission is among the few entities that achieved the Level 4 excellence certification in this index, out of 466 government entities worldwide that participated in the evaluation, with the percentage of local entities obtaining the certification at this level being less than 15% of the total entities evaluated across all sectors of the Kingdom.
The Commission's attainment of Level 4 out of 5 levels is a culmination of its maturity and regulatory compliance, and its efforts in applying the best international practices followed in this field. The certification also comes within the framework of its continuous pursuit of adopting institutional excellence methodologies and obtaining all local and international accreditations in the field of organizational excellence. It has received a number of international accreditation certificates and awards, including the Committed to Excellence (C2E) certificate issued by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), the King Abdulaziz Quality Award, the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Award for Information Technology, and others.
It is worth noting that the organization's evaluation covers a number of core processes, including institutional governance, management control, benefits realization management, stakeholder engagement management, risk management, resource management, in addition to financial management, and other processes related to project management.
