Communications Commission Invites Entities and Companies to Make Use of the Toll-Free Number (800) in Serving Their Customers

The Communications and Information Technology Commission called on all entities and companies to make use of the free digital resources via the number (800) to serve their customers, as the Commission makes these numbers available with the aim of raising the level of service quality among service and commercial establishments, facilitating matters for customers, and sparing them financial burdens, noting that it has provided sufficient numbering resources for the toll-free number (800) to service providers within a competitive environment, and enabled obtaining them in an easy and convenient manner.

The Commission explained that it had previously required all entities falling under its regulatory authority, such as communications and postal service providers, to provide a toll-free customer service number, and to establish a dedicated department to receive, manage, and handle beneficiary complaints from service providers, and to enable communication with the department and submission of complaints through all possible means, whether electronic, by phone, or in person, without obligating the beneficiary to a single means of submitting their complaint, and that access to these means should be clear, easy, and free of charge, with the aim of enhancing beneficiary protection mechanisms and raising the level of service quality, noting that each entity bears responsibility for protecting customers in the sector under its supervision by requiring commercial companies to provide customer service through toll-free numbers.

It is worth noting that the role of the Communications and Information Technology Commission is defined as providing the numbering resources necessary to provide communications services in the Kingdom, and allocating them to communications service providers to provide diverse options at competitive prices for commercial and government establishments, including the choice of toll-free numbers to serve the beneficiaries and customers of those establishments.
