Communications and Information Technology Commission Organizes an Introductory Workshop on Domain Name System Security Extensions

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, represented by the Saudi Network Information Center, will organize an introductory workshop on the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) next Tuesday, 13 Sha'ban 1438H, at its headquarters in Riyadh. The Commission invited those interested and specialized in information security, system administrators, and IT managers to attend the workshop and register through the website (www.dnssec.sa).

DNSSEC technology, which uses public-key cryptography, works to increase the level of security in the domain name system, enabling verification of the existence of information on the system as well as confirming its validity and source, in order to limit certain cyberattacks known as "man-in-the-middle" attacks and "cache poisoning" attacks.

This comes within the framework of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's efforts to develop the Saudi internet domain name system (.sa and .السعودية), and to work on implementing the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC).
