Communications and Information Technology Commission Invites Trip Enthusiasts to Subscribe to the Personal Emergency Distress Service

The Communications and Information Technology Commission renewed its call to land and sea trip enthusiasts to make use of the missing persons search service, which locates their whereabouts with the aim of rescuing them, launched by the Commission in partnership with the General Civil Aviation Commission and the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Command and Control Center.

This service locates individuals by land and sea by providing the location data of the missing person via satellites.

Individuals, especially those who go on trips outside urban areas by land and sea, can subscribe to this service by visiting one of the commercial outlets licensed in their commercial registration to sell wireless devices, and purchasing a personal emergency distress device that meets the approved specifications for satellite search and rescue devices, in addition to filling out the designated form, and having it signed and stamped by the seller and the service applicant.
