The regulations for providing data center services aim to enable the Kingdom to become a regional hub and a digital station through enhancing Data Center services in the Kingdom and attract investments and digital content, by adopting best international practices and standards in data centers, their services and future directions. This comes in light of the rapid development in the communications and information technology sector, and the Commission's continuous endeavor, through its strategy, to keep pace with this development and enable digital transformation of all sectors in the Kingdom.
This service enables Data Center Service Providers to register each Data center that provide services, wholesale or retail, to others in the Kingdom which aims to promote investment and create a fair competitive environment. In addition, the regulation will contribute to improve the quality of Data Center Services, protecting customers and beneficiaries, and optimizing the use of the infrastructure of the communications and information technology sector.
