For two constative years, Saudi Arabia Ranked 1st Globally in the ITU’s ICT Development Index 2026

Saudi Arabia ranked 1st globally, according to ITU’s ICT Development Index (IDI) 2026, which tracks the economies of 159 countries to measure digital development and the progress of countries in ICT services by using two main pillars ‘universal connectivity’ and ‘meaningful connectivity’.

This achievement is the result of Saudi Arabia's strong performance in the Universal and Meaningful Connectivity pillars.

It reflects the Kingdom's continued advancement and the unlimited support of its leadership for the ICT sector, and the effective partnership between the public and private sectors, alongside a robust and inclusive digital infrastructure that has reinforced Saudi Arabia's global leadership across international ICT-related indicators.

CST highlighted that Saudi Arabia's consistent leadership in the IDI reflects its robust digital infrastructure and regulatory environment, reinforcing its international leadership and accelerating the digital economy’s growth.

By the end of 2025, Saudi Arabia's ICT market had expanded to SAR 199 billion, recording a CAGR of 8% over the past five years, reinforcing its position as the largest and fastest-growing ICT market in the MENA region.

Internet penetration reached 100%, and the median mobile internet download speed reached 216 Mbps.

Saudi Arabia has maintained its position at the forefront of the ICT Development Index (IDI), reaffirming its rapid digital transformation and sustaining its global leadership
